SIR OWEN GEE HELPS SILVES BOMBEIROS
It started with Geoff Capes seeing the terrible fires and wanting to do something for the Bombeiros. He gave a number of items to Sally Richards who passed them on to the fundraisers. They in turn asked Owen Gee at Kiss FM to auction them. This resulted in listeners bidding for the items and giving others for auction. The whole thing grew like Topsy and €895.00 was collected.
Many thanks to Owen Gee, Linda and Paul at Kiss FM, and the generosity of their listeners. Commandant Antonio Nunes will use some of the money for purchasing winter protective clothing and the remainder will go towards the current target of €15,000.00 for a ‘new’ second hand ambulance.
Fundraisers Angela and Ray are actively seeking a corporate sponsor or co-sponsors to secure the outstanding €7,500.00.
