The charity dinner dance held in aid of the Silves Bombeiros, held at the Clube de Tenis, was a sell-out and thoroughly enjoyed by the friends who came to support the fund raising efforts. After dinner, when the tombola prizes were collected, a raffle and auction were held with a lot of humour and giggles at Ray’s auctioneering efforts. Music was generously provided by the Good Time Jazz Band which with Karen’s singing made the evening very special. Angela and Ray voiced their appreciation for the help of local businesses and friends for their donations.
At the end of the evening Commandant Antonio Nunes thanked everyone for the €1,655.00 the event had raised, and gave special thanks to Mary Bentley for donating a laptop computer and printer to the Bombeiros.
